How we handle your data.
This policy explains what personal data Axiom Testing Ltd collects, why, and the rights you have over it. It covers this website only.
Last updated: 19 July 2026
// note This is a starting-point policy drafted to reflect how the site currently works. Review it — and have it checked professionally — before treating it as final, especially if data collection changes (e.g. if the contact form gains a server-side backend).
1. Who we are
Axiom Testing Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are a company registered in England & Wales.
2. What data we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum:
- Enquiry details. If you use the contact form, it opens a pre-filled email in your own email application — the name, company, email address and message you enter are sent to us by your email provider when you choose to send it. The website itself does not store these details on a server or database.
- Analytics data. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects usage data such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and a randomised identifier. We do not use this to identify you personally.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To respond to enquiries. When you email us about a project, we use your details to reply and to discuss the work. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To understand site usage. Analytics helps us improve the site. Legal basis: your consent, given via the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time (see “Cookies” below).
4. Cookies
We do not set any non-essential cookies until you accept them. When the site loads, analytics is disabled by default (Google Consent Mode). Only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner do we load Google Analytics and allow its cookies.
The analytics cookies set by Google (for example _ga) are used to distinguish visitors and measure how the site is used. No advertising cookies are used.
You can change your choice at any time using the control in the footer, or by clearing cookies for this site in your browser.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use Google Analytics (provided by Google) as a processor for the analytics described above. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms; see Google’s privacy policy for details.
Analytics data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK, including the United States. Where that happens, it is protected by appropriate safeguards (such as the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses).
6. How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ configured retention period.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@axiomtesting.co.uk.
8. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can help. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
